Ride Through the Decades is Here!

Online Auction begins Friday, 3/22 at 5 pm

What’s New?

All bidding and payment for the Ride Through the Decades Silent Auction will be done online this year.  We will have some items on display in the library during Ride Through the Decades because some things are better seen in person, but there will be no paper forms to place bids.  You will need to use your mobile device or the computers available in the library to bid on all items.

Online Auction Instructions:

  1. Go to: 32auctions.com/ridethroughthedecades2019
  2. Click “Login” in upper right corner
  3. You will need to create an account to participate.  Where page says, “Don’t have an account?”  Click “Create an account now.”
  4. Enter your name, email address, and create a password.  Then indicate approval for all conditions.
  5. You will then receive an email at the email account provided.  In the email, click “Yes, Finish Creating My Account.”
    • The email indicates a display name chosen by default.  This is what other bidders will see when you participate in the online auction.  If you would like to change this, go to “My Account” and then “edit account.”  You can even upload a photo of yourself!
  6. You are now set to Bid or “Buy Now” at the auction!

Auction will begin on Friday, March 22 at 5:00 p.m.  It will remain open until Friday, March 29 at 7:15 p.m.

“Bidding” items vs. “Buy Now” items

  • Bidding items are those that accept bids like a regular auction.  You will be competing with other parents for these prizes.  Items are typically priced to start bidding at 20% of the item’s value, making these a steal if you can win them below value.  Bidding items will remain open until 7:15 p.m. on March 29th.  If you have placed a bid on an item, but someone out-bids you, you can receive a message that you have been out-bid so you can quickly raise your bid to be in the lead again.
  • Buy Now items such as gift cards to a place of business at full value.  So, for example, if you eat at Black Walnut Café all the time, you can purchase the gift card from us.  The PTO gets the card value and you’re not out any money.

Teacher/Staff Parties and Experiences

Most teacher/staff parties and experiences are “Buy Now” items, meaning there is no bidding involved.  You simply indicate that you want to buy that item and proceed with checkout.  The teacher/staff parties vary, but some have space limits so it is in your best interest to check those out first and “Buy Now” if your child would like to participate.  Be sure to note the dates and times of after school parties to avoid conflicts.

Checkout process

When the auction closes, at 7:15 p.m. on March 29th, winning bidders will be sent an email at the address provided that includes an invoice.  You will need to pay this invoice in order to collect your winning item on March 29th.  (Having a PayPal account set up ahead of time will expedite this process.)

If you do not stay until the end of Ride Through the Decades or if you are unable to attend, you may pick up your item the following week at Sally K. Ride.  We encourage you to share the auction link with family and friends, however Ride PTO will not ship items to winning bidders.  All items must be picked up at Sally K. Ride on event night or the week following by the winning bidder or person of their choosing.

There will be NO REFUNDS for winning bids or “Buy Now” purchases.

What if I Need Help?

Ride PTO is here to help you!  You may send questions all week to [email protected], and at Ride Through the Decades we will have volunteers and computers available in the library for anyone who needs assistance or is having trouble with their mobile device.

Volunteer Sign Ups Now Available
